just some thoughts i've had while playing the game!
all in good fun ^_^
theories:
a friend & i noticed in a pre crash chapter (i think at 7 days) that the crash happens on the 25th day of the month. there's also lots of polaroid photos around the board. above the calendar there is a photo of a christmas tree tacked the board. i wondered if jimmy crashed the ship on christmas possibly? ive read something in the past about how statistically domestic violence increases around christmas time due to different life stressors. maybe curly's bday is dec 19th, and that could relate to him being a "winter sports kind of guy" (takes yearly bday trips to snowy resorts). idk just me overthinking again, love this game haha. the only 2 thing that makes me think this might not be true is the calendar border is sort of summery themed, and there are other polaroid photos featuring other seasons.
considering their possible shift times, i would imagine there had to be a bit of overlap in their schedules at some point daily due to their only being able to sleep for 5 hours. but i think it would be pretty brief since we don't know how long their shifts are/who is present when. Curly's duties clearly extend beyond piloting the ship as he is needed in other areas daily. i wonder if he has to make some of their meals? there are the vending machines present that had food in them, but eventually ran out. i wonder if their ID's had food credits on them? maybe that's why Swansea's is found in the vending machine at one point.
notes:
you can glean so much from the fine print of the company posters plastered about and the occasional comments from Curly/Jimmy's internal monologue; Pony Express cares more about their bottom dollar then the well being of their employees. it helps to give more insight into Curly's possible thought process on his crew's "poor team synergy".
easter eggs :
if you go inside the medical room during the 7 day post crash sequence, there is a red poster with the words "clean" written in the middle, surrounded by 6 hands. this seems to be a small bit of foreshadowing for Daisuke's future guilt sequence in the vents.
